‘A Practical Guide to Sustainable Agricultural Growth’: Independent report gathering scalable solutions for productive climate action launched
05 November 2025, Brussels: CropLife International has today published its flagship agricultural climate action report, compiled and authored by independent analysts NTT DATA. ‘A Practical Guide to Sustainable Agricultural Growth’ builds on the 11 key dimensions of what makes farming systems both productive and sustainable as reflected in SDG indicator 2.4.1., and brings together scalable examples of measurable change from around the world.
As farmers are being asked to produce more with fewer resources, whilst also reducing environmental impact, these case studies show that transformation is not only possible, but already underway. NTT DATA’s analysis concludes that lessons from these success cases show how to move from isolated interventions to coherent systems of change.
The Guide was launched by Livio Tedeschi, Chairman of the CropLife International Board of Directors, as he addressed the Inter-American Board of Agriculture (IABA) at the Conference of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Americas.
Speaking in Brasília, Mr Tedeschi highlighted the twin imperatives of scalability and collaboration in achieving results, stressing that our challenge is no longer to identify whether change can happen, but how to scale what already works. “This Guide to Sustainable Agricultural Growth brings together case studies which demonstrate the imperative of implementing outcome-based agricultural policies that enhance productivity and climate resilience,” he said.
“Success stories do not appear in a vacuum. They are the result of collaborative sharing of knowledge and best-practice, through leveraging innovation to accelerate impact, and creating systems and that sustain change. This report will enhance our shared understanding of what those ingredients need to be for success and provide templates for tangible results.”
Emily Rees, President and CEO of CropLife International, said, “The aim of this work is simple. It showcases practical, proven solutions that really deliver outcomes – higher productivity, stronger rural economies, healthier landscapes, and more resilient food systems. As we prepare for the crucial climatefocused dialogue at COP30, NTT DATA’s work will provide a foundation to underpin ambition with solutions.”
