17th Poultry India Expo 2025 Showcases India’s Emergence as a Global Poultry Powerhouse
02 December 2025, Hyderabad: India’s growing influence in the global poultry ecosystem was on full display at the 17th Poultry India Expo 2025, which concluded in Hyderabad after recording its highest-ever participation. With India now the world’s second-largest egg producer and among the top four broiler-producing countries, the event underscored the sector’s expanding economic and nutritional importance.
Record Participation Reflects Sectoral Growth
Inaugurated by Telangana Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar Goud and Tummala Nageswara Rao, the four-day expo—held from November 25 to 28 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre—reinforced its position as South Asia’s largest poultry platform. Organised by the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (IPEMA) under the theme “One Nation, One Expo,” the event pushed forward innovation, partnerships and industry-wide knowledge exchange.
This year, the expo saw unprecedented engagement, with collaborations involving 16 overseas poultry associations, over 40 national organisations, 18 poultry media outlets, 15 global media entities, and more than 100 digital influencers. These alliances broadened international visibility and strengthened technology outreach to farmers across India’s rapidly evolving poultry sector.
Government engagement remained strong throughout. On Poultry Knowledge Day, Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari interacted with stakeholders, emphasising policy direction and the need for future-ready growth. BJP MP Dr. K. Laxman highlighted India’s global rankings as a matter of national pride and pointed to Union government initiatives promoting egg consumption and nutritional security under the National Livestock Mission.
Innovation, Challenges and Vision for the Future
The expo broke multiple records, hosting 500+ exhibitors from more than 50 countries, welcoming over 50,000 visitors, and covering 35,000 square metres across seven halls. Live demonstrations spotlighted advancements in breeding, genetics, hatchery automation, feed milling, climate-controlled housing, diagnostics, sustainable egg processing, manure management and green poultry technologies.
Expert-led sessions addressed emerging diseases, raw material volatility, sustainability models and the adoption of smart technologies, reflecting the sector’s readiness for the next phase of modernisation.
During the valedictory session, Poultry India President Uday Singh Bayas expressed gratitude to the Telangana government for its continued support. He urged relaxation of certain HMDA regulations—including the 40-foot road access requirement—to facilitate the establishment of new poultry units. Bayas added that extending electricity subsidies in line with Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra could position Telangana as India’s leading poultry hub. Encouraging youth to embrace new technologies, he emphasised that innovation would be central to building a profitable and globally competitive poultry industry.
