Government Support Helps Farmers in Central India Adopt Super Seeder Technology

18 September 2025, Sheopur: As part of efforts to promote sustainable stubble management, the Sheopur district administration distributed Super Seeder machines to five farmers under a government subsidy program. The initiative is being led by District Collector Arpit Verma, with awareness drives encouraging farmers to adopt mechanized alternatives to stubble burning.

The beneficiaries – Amrit Dhillon, Jagdish Bairwa, Rajpal, Navneet Kaur, and Sanju Bai – received a subsidy of INR 1.2 lakh each, reducing their effective cost of purchase to INR 1.35 lakh. The distribution took place at a local dealership on Baroda Road through the Office of the Assistant Agriculture Engineer.

Equipped with 13-line sowing capacity, the Super Seeder will allow farmers to directly plant wheat in fields with standing stubble, improving residue management and ensuring timely sowing. Farmers expect the machines to boost wheat yields while preventing the soil fertility loss and fire hazards linked to stubble burning.
