Madhya Pradesh Speeds Up Fertilizer Stocking Ahead of Rabi Season
03 September 2025, New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh has accelerated preparations for the upcoming Rabi season with cooperative societies stocking more than 13,600 metric tonnes of fertilizers across the state. Although sowing is nearly two months away, continuous fertilizer rakes are being unloaded to ensure timely availability for farmers.
At the Sourai rake point in Vidisha, fertilizer rakes have been arriving every alternate day for the past two weeks. The material is quickly transported by trucks to cooperative societies so that farmers can access fertilizers conveniently without delays or shortages.
According to officials, all 154 cooperative societies in Vidisha district now have sufficient urea stock. The current inventory includes 7,100 MT of urea, 3,200 MT of DAP, and 3,300 MT of complex fertilizers. Recently, a rake from HULR supplied an additional 403 MT of urea, while another 2,895 MT rake of NFL DAP is expected within the next two days.
The district administration has emphasized that fertilizer availability must be ensured at least a month before sowing begins. This advance preparedness is intended to help farmers carry out Rabi sowing smoothly without any disruption in input supply.
