High Yielding Soybean Varieties Recommended for Kharif 2025 in Rajasthan
25 May 2025, New Delhi: Rajasthan, a significant contributor to central India’s soybean production, is preparing for the upcoming Kharif 2025 season with a strong focus on timely sowing and improved agronomic practices. Soybean sowing in the state should ideally be carried out from the second week of June to the first week of July, coinciding with the arrival of the monsoon. A minimum of 100 mm rainfall is essential before sowing begins to ensure optimal seed germination and early crop establishment.
To maintain soil productivity and long-term yield stability, deep summer ploughing once every three years is strongly recommended. This practice helps improve soil structure, aeration, and drainage while reducing the buildup of soil-borne pests and diseases. Farmers who have not yet completed this task are advised to do so before the sowing window, followed by two rounds of criss-cross harrowing. In usual circumstances, effective field preparation with criss-cross harrowing and planking is sufficient for a fine tilth and a well-prepared seedbed.
For Kharif 2025, centrally notified soybean varieties recommended for Rajasthan include NRC 165, JS 22-12, JS 22-16, NRC 150, NRC 152, JS 21-72, RVSM 2011-35, NRC 138, EMS 100-39, RVS 76, NRC 142, NRC 130, MACS 1520, RSC 10-46, RSC 10-52, AMS-M-B-5-18, AMS 1001, JS 20-116, JS 20-94, JS 20-98, and NRC 127. These varieties have proven resilient under varying climatic conditions and have shown high yield potential along with resistance to common soybean pests and diseases.
Though Rajasthan does not have separate state-specific variety recommendations, the centrally approved varieties are well-suited for its soil and climate conditions. Farmers in the soybean-growing belts of Rajasthan are advised to choose from among these options based on local experience and soil compatibility.
By combining the right variety selection with good land preparation and optimal sowing timing, soybean farmers in Rajasthan can expect a successful and productive Kharif season.
