Corteva Agriscience Launches Pixxaro® for Broadleaf Weed Control in Wheat in India
13 November 2025, New Delhi: Corteva Agriscience announced the launch of Pixxaro®, a broadleaf weed (BLW) control herbicide for wheat in India.
Pixxaro is a post-emergent pre-mix formulation containing Arylex™ active (Halauxifen-methyl) and Fluroxypyr (Halauxifen-methyl 1.21% w/w + Fluroxypyr-meptyl 38.9% w/w EC). It is designed to control broadleaf weed species such as Chenopodium album, Rumex dentatus, and Medicago denticulata.
Broadleaf weeds in wheat compete with the crop for nutrients, moisture, and light. A study by Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) reported that uncontrolled BLWs can reduce wheat yields by up to 36%.
In wheat cultivation, BLW management often receives less priority than narrow-leaf weeds like Phalaris minor, which can lead to regrowth and the need for repeat herbicide applications.
Field research and farmer demonstrations in major wheat-growing states showed that Pixxaro® effectively controls targeted BLW species in a single application. The formulation allows use under varying field conditions, including fog, and fits within flexible application windows.
