Long-Lasting Protection from Onion Fungal Diseases with Tebuconazole 38.39% w/w SC
Disease Management in Onion Crop in India
18 May 2025, New Delhi: Fungal diseases like Purple Blotch and Stemphylium blight can devastate onion crops if not controlled on time. Tebuconazole 38.39% w/w SC is an efficient systemic fungicide that provides long-lasting protection against these pathogens.
This fungicide works by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. With an active ingredient range of 189.2 to 215 grams per hectare and a formulation dose of 440 to 500 ml/ha, Tebuconazole is known for its curative and preventive actions. The formulation should be diluted in 375 to 500 litres of water per hectare for uniform application.
While the product offers robust disease control, it is essential to note the waiting period of 43 days from the last application to harvest. This makes it suitable for use early in the crop cycle to ensure complete disease eradication before the bulbs reach maturity.
