AI Chatbot ‘Macaozinho’ Launched to Guide COP30 Climate Discussions
12 November 2025, Belém: A new artificial intelligence tool, Macaozinho, designed to provide reliable information on global climate change, is now live. The chatbot, trained using official UN documents from the UNFCCC and IPCC, aims to support participants and observers at COP30 and future climate conferences.
Named after Brazilian macaws and available in over 50 languages, Macaozinho stands out for its accuracy in an era of widespread climate misinformation. It helps users — from the general public to government delegations and climate organisations — understand complex topics like NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions) and carbon markets.
Macaozinho can also translate, summarise, and analyse key documents, such as the Kyoto Protocol and Rio 92 texts, making it a valuable tool for negotiators and climate professionals worldwide.
