The recognition was presented at the Dialogue Next India event, held from September 8–9, 2025, in New Delhi. Julie Borlaug, granddaughter of Nobel Laureate Dr Norman Borlaug, conferred the award on Dr Ravula for her dedicated contribution to the Foundation’s youth programs and her role in mentoring and inspiring young scientists at ICRISAT, Hyderabad.
A sociologist by training, Dr Ravula leads ICRISAT’s Gender and Youth Program and is a core member of the CGIAR Initiative on Gender Equality. She also heads the Dryland Academy, which works on training and capacity building across the agri-food sector.
The award highlights her leadership in implementing the World Food Prize Foundation’s Borlaug-Ruan International Internship Program at ICRISAT.
