“CIFOR-ICRAF brings world-class scientific research, modeling, and spatial analysis, while GGGI offers trusted policy advisory roles, institutional capacity building, and a commitment to delivering bankable project outcomes,” said Beria Leimona, CIFOR-ICRAF Theme Leader, Climate Change, Energy and Low-Carbon Development. “Together with GGGI, we are building the pipelines, partnerships, and investments required to restore landscapes and drive inclusive, climate-smart growth.”

The MOU outlines an ambitious agenda, including:

  • Enhancing integrated landscape and coastal governance systems to restore natural capital and ecosystems.
  • Developing projects on forest and agroforestry value chains, blue economy commodities, nature-based solutions, and innovative climate finance.

The partnership is already advancing a robust pipeline of national, regional, and global projects, aiming to mobilize $100 million in grant resources over the next five years and leverage these into $1 billion in investments and innovative financing.
