Seipasa launches Basei Mg, The New Natural Solution With Fungicidal Action for 360° Crop Protection

10 February 2026, Spain: Seipasa, a Spanish company specializing in the development, formulation, and manufacture of bioinsecticide, biofungicide, biostimulant, and crop nutrition treatments for agriculture, has announced the launch of Basei Mg, a new natural solution with fungicidal action designed to improve and add new tools to foliar bioprotection strategies.

Developed under the standards of the Natural Technology® model, this new product is positioned as an essential alternative for farmers seeking efficacy and sustainability in disease control.

Basei Mg is a foliar protection tool based on magnesium hydroxide —-Mg(OH)2— featuring preventive and curative contact action. It creates a stable alkaline coating that hinders the germination and development of surface fungi. This new alternative thus becomes a solution that helps reduce dependence on conventional fungicides.

The mode of action presented by Basei Mg is threefold. On one hand, it provides a contact action in which Mg(OH)2 microparticles act through physical interaction with the pathogen, limiting its development. Basei Mg also generates a barrier effect capable of creating a hostile alkaline pH environment for pathogens, which impedes spore germination and fungal penetration.

Furthermore, the product moderately induces genes related to the plant’s systemic resistance and activates its defensive system.

Competitive advantages and crop versatility

This natural solution, with its preventive and curative action, stands out for its zero residual impact: it features a 0-day pre-harvest interval (PHI) and has no MRL (Maximum Residue Limit). This makes it the ideal choice for demanding markets and immediate harvest strategies.

Basei Mg boasts a broad label that includes strategic crops such as grapes, olives, stone fruit, vegetables, potatoes, rice, and cereals against diseases such as powdery mildew, olive leaf spot, downy mildew, pyricularia or septoria, among others.

An ally in IPM strategies

Basei Mg provides 360° defense for the plant, attacking the pathogen from the outside while ensuring high coverage and excellent leaf retention.

As a non-toxic natural solution with fungicidal action with no risk of accumulated phytotoxicity, Basei Mg integrates perfectly into biocontrol programs due to its low risk to beneficial fauna and pollinators. The product is also positioned as a suitable tool for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.

Its ability to reduce the load of copper and other synthetic chemicals helps comply with the strictest environmental regulations, promoting a balanced and sustainable ecosystem. With Basei Mg, Seipasa reaffirms its commitment to providing farmers with effective, safe, and environmentally friendly alternatives for disease control.
