CCI Approves Coromandel International’s Acquisition of Equity Stake in NACL Industries

02 July 2025, New Delhi: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given its green signal to the acquisition of certain equity shares in NACL Industries Limited by Coromandel International Limited (CIL), a strategic move set to enhance synergies within the agrochemical sector.

This approved combination involves the acquisition of equity shares in NACL by CIL, a publicly listed agri-solutions company. Coromandel International, a leading player in the Indian agricultural landscape, has a wide portfolio encompassing crop nutrition products such as fertilizers and specialty nutrients, crop protection chemicals including insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, and bioproducts, as well as active ingredients and a robust retail network catering directly to farmers.

On the other hand, NACL Industries, also a public listed entity, is a prominent name in the agrochemical space. The company provides a range of crop protection solutions, including insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, and plant growth regulators or nematicides. NACL also manufactures active ingredients that form the basis of various agrochemical formulations.

This acquisition is expected to strengthen CIL’s crop protection and active ingredients segment, expanding its presence and product reach. It marks another step in the company’s vision to provide comprehensive agricultural solutions across India’s farming community.
