CPDA Chairman Terry Abbott to Testify Before House Agriculture Committee on Crop Innovation

22 July 2025, ArlingtonThe Council of Producers & Distributors of Agrotechnology (CPDA) announced that its Chairman, Terry Abbott, will testify before the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture on Tuesday, July 22, during a hearing titled “Past Breakthroughs and Innovations in Crop Production.” Abbott also serves as Senior Product Portfolio Manager at Adjuvants Unlimited.

His testimony will spotlight the critical role of adjuvants, inert ingredients, and post-patent crop protection products in driving practical, science-based innovation that benefits both growers and the environment.

“CPDA’s members are helping farmers access proven, effective technologies that improve stewardship, increase efficiency, and ensure continued crop protection options,” Abbott said. “Innovation doesn’t stop with a new active ingredient, it includes the smarter use of every tool in the tank.”

Abbott will also address the regulatory backlog at EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs, advocate for modernizing NRCS conservation standards, and call for practical ESA compliance strategies that protect species without removing acres from production.

This marks the second time in as many months that CPDA has provided expert testimony before Congress, further underscoring the association’s leadership in advocating for a science-driven, farmer-focused policies.
