Fentiazoluron Provisionally Approved as ISO Common Name for Insecticide

13 September 2025, US: New common name provisionally approved by ISO on 9th September 2025 for an insecticide Fentiazoluron from Corteva Agriscience.

[N′(Z)]-N-[2-fluoro-4-[1-[4-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl]-1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl]phenyl]-N′-[3-[5-methyl-2-[(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)methyl]phenyl]-4-oxo-2-thiazolidinylidene]urea [2583740-14-9]

ISO has invited objections, such as concerns over potential trademark conflicts. If no objections are received by 8 March 2026, the name fentiazoluron will be formally approved and added to the next edition of ISO 1750, the international reference for preferred and common pesticide names.

En français, le nom commun provisoirement approuvé est « fentiazoluron (nm) ».
