FMC Keenali™ GR Herbicide: A Breakthrough Mode of Action for Grass Weed Control in Rice

01 July 2025, US: Keenali™ GR herbicide, powered by the novel active ingredient Dodhylex™, represents the only herbicide in the Herbicide Resistance Action Committee’s (HRAC) Group 28. This innovative mode of action is the first new herbicide mode introduced globally in nearly 40 years, offering California rice growers an important new tool to manage herbicide resistance.

Applied as a preemergence herbicide, Keenali GR provides excellent residual control of key grass weeds including barnyardgrass, late watergrass, and sprangletop, even targeting herbicide-resistant biotypes. This helps establish a strong foundation for season-long weed management, reducing competition and promoting healthy rice crop growth.
