
NICHINO Group Enters Memorandum of Understanding with Ghent University and Tech Lane
30 June 2025, Belgium: Nihon Nohyaku Co., Ltd. (NICHINO Group) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ghent University in Belgium and its affiliated organization, Tech Lane Ghent Science Park for cooperation in research and development of sustainable crop protection products.
This MoU aims to create innovative and environmentally conscious solutions in the agricultural sector by combining the expertise and technological capabilities of the three parties along with existent research cooperation between Nichino Europe Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nihon Nohyaku in Cambridge, UK, and Ghent University. Through this MoU, the parties seek to expand collaborations in order to fulfill their contribution to address global challenges such as food security and climate change.

Tech Lane is a service center that supports spin-off companies from the Ghent University Association. It fosters the start-up, growth, and development of innovative high-tech companies. By promoting synergy and networking, Tech Lane creates a dynamic environment for young and creative entrepreneurship.
Future Outlook
Based on the MoU, Nihon Nohyaku, together with the active contribution by Nichino Europe, will strengthen its collaboration with Ghent University and Tech Lane, particularly in exploring development of eco-harmonized products. Moving forward, the parties aim to provide more sustainable and innovative agricultural solutions through joint research and technological exchange.
