UPL Launches BOXADON™ 360 SC Insecticide: A More Flexible Formulation Of The Active Ingredient Spirotetramat For Effective Pest Control In Key Specialty Crops
22 December 2025, USA: UPL NA Inc. (UPL) has announced the launch of Boxadon™ 360 SC insecticide, a new formulation of the active ingredient spirotetramat designed to give growers a flexible and effective option for managing sucking pests in key specialty crops.
Boxadon 360 SC is a systemic product formulated with an exclusive 3-pound load of spirotetramat for a more flexible application rate. The powerful active ingredient moves throughout the entire plant, including new growth, to protect it from leaves to roots. It then becomes active when ingested by sucking pests, providing excellent control with a high level of residual efficacy.
“Boxadon 360 SC insecticide gives growers a new option for providing 360-degree protection for their key specialty crops from sucking pests,” said Kathy Seitzinger, Product Manager, Insecticides for UPL Corp. “This unique formulation provides the same reliable pest control growers count on and is flexible enough to be used across a wide variety of specialty crops to control a broad spectrum of pests.”
Key specialty crops included on the Boxadon 360 SC label include: citrus, grapes, leafy vegetables, onions, pome fruit, potatoes and tree nuts. It is effective in controlling key pests in those crops, including vine mealybug, Gill’s mealybug, thrips, pear and Asian citrus psyllids, as well as aphids, whiteflies and scales.
“In addition, Boxadon 360 SC insecticide is an excellent IPM partner for rotational programs to support resistance management,” said Seitzinger.
