Carbendazim 46.27% SC for Combating Powdery Mildew in Mango Orchards

Crop Protection Advisory for Mango Farmers in India

18 May 2025, New Delhi: Powdery mildew can have devastating effects on mango flowers and young fruits, leading to substantial crop loss. Carbendazim 46.27% SC, approved by the Central Insecticide Board (CIB), is a trusted fungicide widely used by Indian mango farmers for disease management.

The active ingredient concentration of Carbendazim is 0.046% or 46 grams per 100 liters of water, with the same dosage applicable for formulation (0.1% or 100 ml per 100 liters of water). The water requirement is based on plant size and the necessary canopy coverage, ensuring thorough application. The waiting period before harvesting is 15 days, giving the crop enough time to metabolize the chemical safely.

Carbendazim acts as a systemic fungicide that interrupts the development of fungal mycelium, making it effective not only in treatment but also in preventing future outbreaks. Its wide use and official approval underline its importance in integrated disease management strategies for mango farmers.
