Multi-Action Control for Powdery Mildew in Mango with Hexaconazole and Meptyl Dinocap

Crop Protection Advisory for Mango Farmers in India

18 May 2025, New Delhi: Mango growers often face tough decisions when multiple treatments are needed for powdery mildew. Two effective options permitted by authorities are Hexaconazole (5% EC and SC forms) and Meptyl Dinocap 35.7% EC.

For Hexaconazole 5% EC, the dosage is 0.005% (5 g per 100 liters) or 0.1% (100 ml per 100 liters), with a waiting period of 30 days.

Hexaconazole 5% SC is used at 0.01% (10 g per 100 liters) and diluted in 0.2% formulation, with a waiting period of 27 days.

Meptyl Dinocap, another alternative, is used at 108–120 g a.i., with a formulation range of 308.6–342.8 g/ha diluted in 1000 liters of water. It has a much shorter waiting period of 7 days.

These fungicides provide effective control when used timely and in rotation.
