A Hole-in-One For Community Spirit At Inglewood

09 February 2026, AU: Now in its fourth year, the Golf Day has become a standout fixture on the local calendar, bringing people together for a fun day on the green while raising funds for important causes close to home.

Being recognised with the award was a proud moment for the team.

“It was wonderful to be recognised in front of the community,” said Elders Inglewood Branch Manager, Ben Hammond.

“Hearing feedback at the ceremony and seeing the support online meant a lot, and it was really rewarding to have our efforts acknowledged.”

In 2025, the event raised more than $5,000 for LifeFlight and welcomed 80 local participants, who enjoyed a three-ball Ambrose competition, raffles, a charity auction and a classic barbeque lunch. Proceeds also support the local golf club, making it a win-win for the whole community.

What began as a fundraiser in response to the 2021 floods that impacted Inglewood has grown into a must-do annual event.

Each year, the Elders Inglewood team works hard to make sure the Golf Day is not only well run but genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved.

“The aim has always been to create a fun-filled day for the community, raise money to help those in need, and give people a chance to come together,” Ben said.

Feedback from participants says it all. Many describe the day as a great opportunity to catch up with friends, have a laugh, and enjoy a relaxed round of golf in good company. It’s this laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back year after year.

For the Elders Inglewood team, the event is about more than fundraising; it’s a chance to connect with clients and locals outside of work, check in, and enjoy being part of the community they live and work in.

One of the most special parts of the day is the community support behind it. Locals generously volunteer their time, helping cook barbequess, sell raffle tickets, collect donations, and assist wherever needed. The event has truly become a family affair, with kids joining in and adding to the lively, inclusive atmosphere.

Plans for the 2026 Elders Inglewood Golf Day are already underway, in fact the local golf club now automatically books the same date each year.

To the community who continue to support the event, the message is simple: thank you.

“Your effort doesn’t go unnoticed. We really appreciate all the help we get — this day wouldn’t happen without the community behind it,” said Ben.

As the event continues to grow, so does the pride.

“We’re really proud of how big it’s become, that it keeps growing each year, and that people want to come along, have fun and be part of it.”

A great cause, a great day, and a great example of what can happen when a community comes together. Congratulations to Elders Inglewood on a well-deserved win.
