Bilateral meeting with H.E. Jambaltseren Tumur-Uya, State Secretary in the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia

13 October 2025, RomeFAO Director-General, Dr QU Dongyu, met with H.E. Jambaltseren Tumur-Uya, State Secretary in the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia on the margins of the first FAO Global Exhibition “From Seeds to Foods” at FAO Headquarters in the context of the 2025 World Food Forum and FAO’s 80th Anniversary celebrations.

The Director-General welcomed the State Secretary and thanked him for the President of Mongolia’s congratulatory letter for FAO’s 80th Anniversary and requested that he convey his best wishes to the President.

The Director-General reaffirmed FAO’s strong partnership with Mongolia, highlighting opportunities to further expand collaboration in rangeland management, livestock development, and sustainable agrifood systems. He also underlined FAO’s support for the 2026 International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, recognizing Mongolia’s leadership and vast potential in this area.

The State Secretary congratulated FAO on its 80th Anniversary and reaffirmed Mongolia’s deep appreciation for FAO’s Four Betters and the Hand-in-Hand Initiative, promoting food security, green development, and agricultural sustainability, and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in the years ahead.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening the FAO–Mongolia partnership to advance sustainable agrifood systems and improve rural livelihoods.
