Vice Minister Zhang Zhili Meets with UK Ambassador to China

27 January 2026, China: Vice Minister Zhang Zhili met with Peter Wilson, UK Ambassador to China, in Beijing on January 22. They exchanged views on advancing practical cooperation in agriculture between China and the UK. 

Vice Minister Zhang noted that China-UK agricultural cooperation has a long history, strong foundation, and vast potential. With the concerted efforts of both countries, notable achievements have been made in various areas such as agricultural trade, agricultural science and technology, and green agriculture. China is committed to further implementing the outcomes of the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue and aims to deepen cooperation in agricultural trade, green agriculture, agricultural technology, and research personnel exchange, with the goal of achieving more practical results. 

Ambassador Wilson expressed that the UK values its agricultural partnership with China and agrees with China’s proposal to strengthen and expand cooperation. The UK is eager to continue advancing cooperation in all agricultural sectors with China, contributing to the healthy development of UK-China relations.
