World Food Prize Foundation To Convene DialogueNEXT in India, Spotlighting Farmer-Centered Solutions
27 June 2025, New Delhi: In a landmark initiative that places farmers at the core of global agricultural transformation, the World Food Prize Foundation, in partnership with the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), the Borlaug Institute for South Asia, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), will host DialogueNEXT 2025 on September 8–9, 2025, at the ICAR Convention Center, New Delhi.
Under the powerful theme “Take it to the Farmer,” the event draws inspiration from Nobel Laureate Dr. Norman E. Borlaug’s timeless call to action. These five words continue to resonate across research institutions, policy forums, and agricultural landscapes—reminding the global community that real progress in food systems must be grounded in the lives and livelihoods of those who grow our food.
A Global Dialogue Rooted in Local Realities
DialogueNEXT India aims to accelerate transformative conversations around:
- Breakthrough agri-tech innovations
- Climate- and water-smart agricultural practices
- Youth engagement in farming systems
- Development of sustainable, nutritious food chains
Importantly, farmers themselves will take center stage—not just as participants, but as primary storytellers, shaping the agenda with their lived experiences, insights, and practical needs.
Continuing Borlaug’s Global Legacy
DialogueNEXT is part of a global series retracing Dr. Borlaug’s legacy and influence across continents. By revisiting regions where his work has left an indelible mark, the series fosters meaningful dialogue and identifies strategic next steps to address hunger and build resilient food systems.
The insights and outcomes from the India dialogue will contribute to the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, scheduled for October 21–23, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa, where global leaders will convene to confront emerging challenges in food and agriculture.
