Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel to Address Earth Summit in Gandhinagar

NABARD and IAMAI to host two-day conference on rural innovation and cooperative-led development

03 December 2025, MumbaiThe second edition of the Earth Summit 2025–26, jointly organised by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), will take place on December 5–6, 2025, at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar. Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Government of India, is scheduled to address the Summit. Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat; Shri Jitubhai Savjibhai Vaghani, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Gujarat; Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation; and Mr Shaji K.V., Chairman, NABARD, will also be present.

The Gandhinagar edition, themed ‘Empowering Rural Innovation for Global Change’, will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, agri-enterprises, women entrepreneurs, local communities, and technology start-ups. Discussions will focus on the role of technology and cooperatives in expanding rural opportunities, strengthening market linkages, improving productivity, and supporting livelihood generation. The Summit will also highlight how digital tools, AgriTech and RuralTech solutions can support rural development at scale. In addition, it will examine the contribution of cooperatives to India’s rural growth agenda.

The event is expected to host more than 5,000 attendees, along with 80 exhibitors, over 30 knowledge sessions, representatives from 200+ cooperatives, 150+ AgriTech and RuralTech innovators, and several live technology demonstrations.

Mr Manikumar S., Chief General Manager, NABARD, said, “India’s rural economy is entering a phase where technology, innovation and the cooperative network can together accelerate meaningful change. At NABARD, we are focused on strengthening digital infrastructure, equipping Rural Cooperative Banks with modern systems, and enabling farmers, cooperatives and rural entrepreneurs to participate confidently in emerging opportunities. The Earth Summit provides a platform for stakeholders to shape a development roadmap that is inclusive and future-oriented.”

Mr Gaurav Chopra, Senior Vice President, IAMAI, said, “The Gandhinagar chapter of the Earth Summit highlights how digital innovation, combined with the cooperative movement, can support growth across India’s rural economy. Our objective is to facilitate collaboration between the cooperative sector and the digital ecosystem so that new tools and platforms can reach the last mile. This Summit contributes to creating a rural development framework that is technology-driven and aligned with future needs.”

The three-city Earth Summit 2025–26 will conclude with a national event in New Delhi in February 2026.
