India to Host IDF World Dairy Summit 2027 in Mumbai Following NDDB–IDF Agreement

14 February 2026, New Delhi: India has taken another significant step in strengthening its leadership in the global dairy sector, as the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and the International Dairy Federation (IDF) formally exchanged an agreement to host the IDF World Dairy Summit (WDS) 2027 in India.

The agreement was exchanged between Dr. Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB and Board Member of IDF, and Ms. Laurence Rycken, Director General, IDF, during a ceremony held in New Delhi on 12 February 2026.

The exchange took place in the presence of Chirag Paswan, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, and Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Panchayati Raj, at the Indian Dairy Association’s 52nd Dairy Industry Conference.

Summit Scheduled for November 2027 in Mumbai

The World Dairy Summit 2027 will be organised by the Indian National Committee of the International Dairy Federation (INC-IDF) from 16–19 November 2027 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.

The event is expected to draw more than 1,500 delegates from across the global dairy value chain, representing a substantial share of the international dairy market. Participants will include policymakers, dairy farmers, cooperatives, processors, researchers, financial institutions, start-ups, and technology providers.

Platform for Global Dairy Dialogue and Collaboration

The summit agenda will feature meetings of the IDF Board, the General Assembly, and several technical committees, providing a platform to deliberate on sectoral priorities, innovation pathways, sustainability challenges, and evolving policy frameworks.

The IDF World Dairy Summit is regarded as the flagship annual gathering of the global dairy community, enabling stakeholders to assess the world dairy situation, exchange technical knowledge, and align on strategic directions for sectoral growth.

India’s Selection and Continued Engagement with IDF

India’s selection as host country was confirmed during the 118th IDF General Assembly held in Paris on 14 October 2024, where member nations voted in favour of India’s candidature.

India last hosted the summit in 2022 in Delhi-NCR, underscoring its growing prominence as a major dairy producer and innovation hub.

A Century-Old Global Dairy Institution

Founded in 1903, the International Dairy Federation is an international non-governmental organisation representing about 40 member nations. The federation has played a central role in shaping global standards, scientific collaboration, and policy dialogue across the dairy sector for more than a century.
