Madhya Pradesh Farmers to Get Fertilizers Delivered at Home, CM Mohan Yadav Directs Officials to Explore Home Delivery System

24 July 2025, New Delhi: In a major relief for farmers in Madhya Pradesh, the state government is considering a plan to deliver fertilizers directly to farmers’ homes. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, during a high-level meeting at the state secretariat on Tuesday, directed officials to work on a practical strategy for implementing fertilizer home delivery. The move aims to curb black marketing and misuse of urea and other fertilizers.

Statewide Crackdown to Ensure Availability for Kharif 2025

Officials briefed the CM that a state-wide crackdown is already underway to ensure smooth availability of fertilizers for the upcoming Kharif season 2025 and to prevent illegal hoarding. So far, authorities have registered 30 FIRs, cancelled 56 licenses, suspended 70 traders, and imposed sales restrictions on 188 sellers.

Real-Time Rack Information for Farmers

CM Yadav instructed that in districts with high demand for urea, information about arriving fertilizer rakes and their distribution schedules over the next seven days must be widely publicized. This would prevent confusion and help farmers access fertilizers at the right time.

Boost to Nano Urea, Home Delivery Plan Under Serious Consideration

Dr. Yadav emphasized that the government is also exploring ways to promote the use of nano urea—an efficient alternative that requires smaller quantities. He asked officials to prepare a viable plan to ensure that subsidized fertilizers, including nano variants, can be delivered directly to farmers’ doorsteps.

More Counters at Fertilizer Distribution Centers

To ease congestion at fertilizer outlets, the Chief Minister directed the setup of additional counters and expedited distribution processes. He also instructed the Marketing Federation and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) to maintain adequate stock in line with district requirements.

The Chief Minister ordered enhanced surveillance to prevent the misuse of urea in activities such as cattle feed, illicit alcohol production, poultry feed, or adulterated milk manufacturing. He called for surprise inspections of such establishments and stringent action in case of violations.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Eidal Singh Kanshana, Cooperation Minister Vishwas Sarang, Revenue Minister Karan Singh Verma, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, and several senior officials.
