Madhya Pradesh: Wheat Procurement Farmer Registration for Rabi Marketing Season 2026–27 to Begin from 7 February

27 January 2026, Bhopal: The Government of Madhya Pradesh has finalised the farmer registration process for wheat procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2026–27. Farmers across Madhya Pradesh will be able to register from 7 February to 7 March 2026 to sell their wheat under the state’s procurement mechanism.

Madhya Pradesh’s Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Govind Singh Rajput, has urged farmers to complete their registration within the stipulated timeline to avoid any inconvenience. He stated that the registration system has been simplified and made farmer-friendly, with a total of 3,186 registration centres established across the state.

For the 2026–27 marketing year, the Government of India has announced the MSP for wheat at ₹2,585 per quintal, an increase of ₹160 per quintal compared to the previous year.

Free Registration Facilities

Free registration facilities have been made available at Gram Panchayat and Janpad Panchayat offices, Tehsil office facilitation centres, and registration centres operated by cooperative societies and cooperative marketing institutions.

Paid Registration Facilities

Paid registration services will be available at MP Online kiosks, Common Service Centres (CSCs), Lok Seva Kendras, and privately operated cyber cafés. District collectors will issue instructions regarding applicable charges, with the registration fee capped at ₹50 per registration. Proper verification and record-keeping of land documents, Aadhaar cards and other photo identification documents will be mandatory.

Registration for Tenant and Special Category Farmers

Registration for tenant farmers, sharecroppers, Kotwars and forest land title holders in Madhya Pradesh will be permitted only at registration centres operated by cooperative societies and cooperative marketing institutions. Verification of 100 per cent of farmers under this category will be conducted by the Revenue Department. Individuals or operators associated with ineligible institutions in previous years will not be allowed to conduct registrations at other centres.

Bank Account Requirements for Payment

Payments for wheat sold at MSP in Madhya Pradesh will be credited on priority to the farmer’s Aadhaar-linked bank account. In cases where Aadhaar-linked payments face technical issues, payment may be made to the alternative bank account provided during registration.

Farmers must furnish details including bank name, account number and IFSC code at the time of registration. Inactive bank accounts, joint accounts, and accounts linked to Fino, Airtel or Paytm will not be accepted. Farmers are advised to ensure that their Aadhaar number, bank account and mobile number are properly linked and updated.

All district collectors in Madhya Pradesh have been instructed to keep Aadhaar enrolment and update centres functional at district and tehsil levels to facilitate biometric and mobile number updates. Aadhaar update services available at post offices may also be utilised. Coordination with banks will be required to ensure Aadhaar-bank account linkage. During registration, a ₹1 verification transaction will be carried out through the e-Uparjan/JIT portal of the Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation to authenticate Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

Mandatory Aadhaar Verification

Aadhaar verification is mandatory for both registration and sale of produce. Verification will be conducted through OTP sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number or via biometric devices. Registration will be approved only when the farmer’s name recorded in land records (account and khasra) matches the name on the Aadhaar card. In case of discrepancies, verification must be completed at the tehsil office, after which the registration will be considered valid.

Farmer Outreach and Awareness

Farmers whose mobile numbers are available from previous Rabi and Kharif registrations will be informed through SMS alerts. Instructions have also been issued to disseminate registration information through public announcements, display notices on Gram Panchayat notice boards, and install banners at cooperative society and mandi levels. Officials have been directed to ensure that all registration-related processes are completed within the prescribed timelines.
