Rajasthan Government Assures Relief for Farmers: Crop Loss Survey to Begin After Heavy Rainfall
Ajmer Administration on High Alert Following Excess Rainfall
21 July 2025, New Delhi: In response to recent heavy rains in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district, the local administration has gone on alert mode to ensure safety and initiate relief measures. The District Collector, Mr. Lok Bandhu, has urged the public and farming community to stay safe and avoid falling for misleading information, especially content circulating on social media that exaggerates the extent of damage and flooding.
While some localities have experienced temporary waterlogging, the administration has clarified that most parts of Ajmer city remain unaffected and daily life is normal. The Collector warned against believing rumors of large-scale flooding and city submergence, terming such claims baseless.
Public Advisory: Avoid Waterlogged Areas, Stay Safe
Residents have been advised not to enter waterlogged areas and to avoid risky activities such as swimming or taking photos and videos in flooded zones. Special caution has been issued for children and youth, asking them to refrain from venturing into dangerous spots just for social media content.
All local administrative officers — including sub-divisional magistrates, tehsildars, and municipal authorities — have been instructed to implement safety measures in vulnerable zones. Security arrangements are being strengthened, and patwaris (local revenue officers) and village development officers will remain stationed at their headquarters. The administration will also identify affected zones and launch awareness campaigns to alert the public.
Immediate Survey of Crop and Property Damage Ordered
With initial assessments indicating damage to both agricultural crops and residential properties — including both kutcha (temporary) and pucca (permanent) houses — the District Collector has ordered immediate surveys to assess losses due to excessive rainfall. The administration has pledged that compensation and support will be provided as per established government norms.
Farmers who have suffered crop losses will be eligible for assistance following the survey. Relief proposals will be prepared and sent to the district headquarters without delay, ensuring timely support to both the farming community and general public.
