Tomato prices down by 60% in a month: India Region
14 July 2022, New Delhi: Tomato prices, had touched ₹100 per kg in June have now dropped by 60% to ₹40 per kg but the prices of potatoes remain firm. Good quality potatoes prices have gone up by 2% in July as demand from southern states has increased.
As per the figures released by the government, inflation for potato and tomato rose 23.86% and 158.78%, respectively, in June. This is expected to go down in the month of July as monsoon has covered India, temperatures have dropped and new crop is expected to reach market.
