New Case IH Corn Headers Boost Feeding, Throughput and Workrate

10 December 2025, AustriaGreater capacity, reduced component stress and faster stalk decomposition are among the key customer benefits offered by the new Case IH C500 series corn headers. They are designed for full compatibility with all Axial-Flow and AF combine series – and include the largest corn header ever offered by Case IH in Europe.

Alongside the C512-75 (12 rows with 75-cm spacing), Case IH introduces the new C516-75 – its first 16-row corn header with 75-cm row spacing. This model is specifically designed to meet the requirements of European farmers and to maximize the performance of the latest AF series combines. The C516-75 delivers several key advantages, including a significantly reduced overall weight of the picking units. In addition, operators benefit from simplified maintenance procedures and minimized downtime, ensuring greater efficiency and productivity in the field.

Other features on C500 corn headers include new dual-action deck plates. These can be altered hydraulically from the cab, providing safe, simple and convenient adjustment without leaving the operator’s seat, to quickly adapt to differing crop conditions.

The C500 models feature the industry’s largest-diameter cross auger, with a 60 cm flighting diameter and a 62.5 cm pitch, ensuring smooth feeding under all harvest conditions boosting output. A dual driveline provides separate drives to the row unit and integral chopper. This improves load management of the individual drive components and gearboxes, maximizes power distribution efficiency, and enhances overload protection. The new C500 Series headers feature an advanced monitoring system with sensors on the main toolbar that detects both chopper and row unit slip clutch activation through vibration and frequency signals. When triggered, operators receive an immediate alert in the cab.

“New C500 headers are the answer to maximizing output from the largest Axial-Flow and AF combines for those growing corn in 75-cm rows,” said Andreas Saile, European Business Marketing Manager Crop Harvesting at Case IH.

“With this blend of features, harvest performance is maximized, downtime decreased, and total cost of ownership for the whole combine package is driven down further.”
