New STEYR® Impuls Tractors Combine Compact Power With Premium Comfort And Intelligent Control
12 November 2025, Austria: A completely new range of STEYR® Impuls tractors will help customers maximise productivity through performance, technology and comfort advances that enhance driveability, lower noise levels and reduce fuel consumption. Bearing the bold new STEYR styling, many of the designs and components in the Impuls range are completely new.
Making their debut at Agritechnica 2025, the new 6170, 6180 and 6200 Impuls CVT models will be available with a newly designed CVT continuously-variable transmission or – in 2026 – the 24×24 S-Control 8 semi-powershift transmission. There are also higher maximum rated power levels of 170hp, 180hp and 200hp. The 6170, 6180 and 6200 Impuls underline their credentials with a new benchmark for mid-range performance tractors; the range-topping 225hp (max) 6200 Implus model with S-Control 8 transmission has recorded class-leading fuel efficiency figures of 243 g/kWh in DLG testing.
Greater driving comfort is assured thanks to a completely new front axle. It can be specified in standard or heavy-duty versions, both available with a new, optional suspension system, to minimize shock transfer to the cab and the operator. New dual accumulators provide swifter reaction to maximize shock absorption and operator comfort, while optional roll control provides accumulator locking when operating in transport mode for precise road-handling. Combined with a new axle support and revised hood design shape, headland turns are made easier by a tighter, 11.4m turning circle. An upgraded braking system means less force is required to depress the brake pedal, for smoother operation and better control.
More operator comfort
Comfort is further boosted by a completely new cab interior, where operators benefit from noise levels of just 68dBA. Interior materials have been upgraded for refined fit and finish, and next-generation displays include full connectivity and implement management capabilities, with the updated STEYR Infomat 1200 touchscreen terminal incorporated into a redesigned armrest that provides more intuitive operator control. Owners can take control of their farming operations with STEYR FieldOps™, the machine and agronomic data management platform that provides mobile and web access to operating and field data. Externally, operator-first features include integrated LED taillights, improved access steps and wide cab entry for full safety and comfort.
Greater implement handling performance
New Impuls models not only provide an enhanced operator experience, but also offer greater implement handling capabilities. A higher permissible gross vehicle weight of 13,500kg means maximum payload is now 5,500kg, providing the strength needed for heavy-duty work in a compact frame. At the rear, new remote valves provide clearer and easier connection. The whole hydraulic circuit benefits from a larger 170 l/min hydraulic pump, while a rear linkage upgrade provides greater robustness to handle high load stresses. Up front, a new PTO design incorporates a wet clutch for greater durability.
“These tractors underscore the reputation of STEYR Traktoren for innovation and reliability,” says Ross Macdonald, STEYR Impuls Product Marketing Manager.
“The new Impuls combines a highly manoeuvrable design and premium driving comfort in a compact, powerful combination. Complemented by the ability to specify a full suite of precision farming and connectivity technology, this latest generation offers customers significant scope to maximise operating efficiency and productivity.”
