Ferrari Agroindústria Advances with Bioinput Unit in Partnership with São Paulo’s Biological Institute

31 December 2025, São PauloFerrari Agroindústria has announced the launch of its first bioinput production unit through a partnership with the Biological Institute of São Paulo (IB). The agreement, formalized in August 2025, establishes a cooperation structure for the development of biological inputs and improvement of operational processes.

The Biological Institute, an authority in agricultural research and plant health, will provide support in Research & Development, product validation, production implementation, and operational training. This cooperation ensures that the bioinputs produced by Ferrari comply with applicable quality parameters and regulatory requirements. According to the company’s Board of Directors, the partnership places Ferrari in a position to expand its work with biological solutions within the sugar-energy sector, which already contributes to clean energy generation. The company notes that demand for biological inputs is increasing as producers seek solutions that maintain productivity without environmental pressure.

Transition to Biological Agriculture

The new unit will begin production for internal use, supplying Ferrari’s own crop operations. This model seeks to optimize production costs, improve agronomic performance across crop cycles, and gradually reduce dependency on chemical pesticides. The biological inputs developed will support crop management, contributing to pest and disease control, soil balance, microbiota activity and lower environmental residue. Ferrari’s production plan includes biofertilizers and microbial inoculants to improve nutrient availability, biostimulants for plant growth and development, and biological conditioners for field establishment and crop support.

This approach reinforces Ferrari’s operational direction toward biological technologies, cost efficiency and practices based on field data and technical decision making.

Ferrari Fertilizer Factory

Ferrari’s move toward internal input production began in 2020 with the operation of its organic and inorganic fertilizer factory in Porto Ferreira, São Paulo. Initially focused on humic and fulvic acid-based inputs, the unit has expanded to produce customized fertilizer formulations for sugarcane, soybeans and corn. This evolution, under the management of agronomist Fábio Val, allows Ferrari to influence productivity, agronomic performance and cost control through fertilizers formulated according to the requirements of each cultivation area.

The factory employs eight professionals and has an installed capacity of 750,000 liters per month. This volume serves Ferrari Agroindústria, Usina São Luiz (USL) and Cresciumal Bioenergia, with the possibility of supplying external partners in the future. The production process includes raw material verification, filtration and continuous monitoring of pH levels and nutrient concentration.
