15 October 2025, US: The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has provisionally approved a new common name on 13th October 2025 for an RNAi fungicide developed by GreenLight Biosciences.

Technical name: RNA (Erysiphe necator-specific double-stranded interfering ES43); [3002952-14-6]
Proposed ISO common name: erysichrona

ISO has invited objections from stakeholders who may consider that the name “erysichrona” conflicts with existing trademarks. Any objections must be submitted to the Maintenance Agency no later than 13th April 2026.

If no objections are received by the deadline, “erysichrona” will be formally approved and included in the next edition of ISO 1750, which lists preferred and approved common names for pesticides and related substances.
