ISO Approves ‘Pioxaniliprole’ as New Insecticide Common Name Developed by PI Industries
02 May 2024, Geneva: The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has officially approved pioxaniliprole as the new pesticide common name for a pyridylpyrazole-based insecticide developed by PI Industries Ltd. This decision follows a review period during which no objections were raised regarding the proposed name.
Pioxaniliprole, identified chemically as N-[4-chloro-2-[[(1,1-dimethylethyl)amino]carbonyl]-6-methylphenyl]-1-(3-chloro-2-pyridinyl)-3-[(1,1-dioxido-3-thietanyl)oxy]-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamide [CAS RN: 2368920-61-8], will be included in the upcoming March 2025 XML data set revision of ISO 1750:2023 – the international standard that catalogs pesticide common names.
