New Pyrazolecarboxamide Insecticide Receives Provisionally Approved ISO Common Name

17 November 2025, USA new pyrazolecarboxamide insecticide developed by Qingdao KingAgroot Chemical Compound Co., Ltd. has received provisional approval for its ISO common name, marking an important step toward international recognition. The compound, identified chemically as 1-(1,2-dimethylpropyl)-5-methyl-N-2-propyn-1-yl-N-3-pyridinyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide with the CAS number 3060345-80-1, was granted the provisional common name “dimpyrargyl” on 13 November 2025. Its Chinese common name is 啶蚜胺, and in French it has been listed as « dimpyrargyle (nm) ».

According to the ISO Maintenance Agency, stakeholders who have concerns—such as potential conflicts with existing trademarks—may file objections. Any such objections must be submitted on or before 13 May 2026. In the absence of objections, “dimpyrargyl” will move from provisional to fully approved status and will be included in the upcoming updated edition of ISO 1750, which catalogs both preferred names and officially recognized common names for pesticides.

The provisional approval signals progress toward the compound’s wider regulatory acceptance and may facilitate clearer global communication within the crop protection industry.
