Aboitiz Foods Secures Global Risk Management Certification to Strengthen Asia-Pacific Operations
22 November 2025, Singapore: Aboitiz Foods, a regional food and agribusiness company, has strengthened its governance framework as its Risk Management Team earned the Risk and Insurance Management Society–Certified Risk Management Professionals (RIMS-CRMP) credential. With 80% of its team now certified, the company joins a limited group of Asia-Pacific agrifood players that have aligned their risk practices with global standards. The certifications were awarded during the PARIMA Conference in Singapore.
Strengthening Governance Through Global Certification
The RIMS-CRMP is the only risk management certification accredited under ISO/IEC 17024. It covers strategic competencies such as organizational assessment, risk strategy development, process implementation, and data-driven decision-making.
According to Annacel Natividad, Chief Risk Officer at Aboitiz Foods, risk management is embedded in the company’s growth approach. “By managing it with discipline and foresight, we strengthen the foundation of our business—ensuring that our people, partners, customers, and communities continue to thrive together,” she said.
Risk Management in a Broad Regional Network
Aboitiz Foods operates across eight countries in Asia, with activities spanning feed milling, farm operations, logistics, trading, and food production. The company said that global certification enhances its capability to manage food safety, supply chain continuity, compliance, and climate-related uncertainties across this network.
“Our ability to support the business with clearer insights and structured risk strategies improves with this certification,” said Ed Monares, Assistant Vice President for Risk Management and Data Protection Officer. He noted that stronger risk systems enable more confident decision-making aligned with international benchmarks.
Building Capability Across Markets
During the PARIMA Conference, Aboitiz Foods’ team members received their certifications, underscoring the company’s focus on building internal capability. “Earning this certification validates our everyday work, but it also pushes us to keep improving,” said Jun Ning Tu, Risk Specialist for China.
The company views risk expertise as a tool to address issues such as climate variability, disease pressure, rising production costs, and evolving regulatory frameworks—factors influencing food systems across the region.
Advancing Regional Resilience
Aboitiz Foods stated that risk-aligned systems support stronger outcomes not only for its own operations but also for farmers, suppliers, and partners across the value chain. The company continues to invest in developing its workforce and reinforcing systems that support its regional expansion and its goal of sustainably supplying food “from mill to meal.”
