Aquaculture in Focus: Aboitiz Foods Expands Agriconnect Across Asia

23 July 2025, New Delhi: Aboitiz Foods has expanded its Agriconnect program, a dedicated learning and engagement series for large-scale farm operators, to focus on aquaculture in its second season. The initiative aims to equip livestock and aquaculture producers with expert insights to improve overall productivity and profitability amid rising global seafood consumption.

The latest edition of Agriconnect reached five key markets: the Philippines, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia, engaging key customers of Pilmico and Gold Coin Feed across these regions.

“We recognize that farming conditions are constantly evolving, and innovation has never been more important,” said Eric Nojac, Business CEO at Aboitiz Foods. “Through this series, we aim to work alongside our customers to build stronger, more resilient, and more profitable farms.”

Agriconnect’s defining feature is its hybrid format, combining webinars with in-person viewing sessions and post-event consultations. Through localized consultations, raisers engage directly with technical and sales specialists from Pilmico and Gold Coin, allowing for tailored advice on farm management challenges.

The second season focused on practical strategies to improve aquaculture productivity and farm resilience. The first session addressed Tilapia production, offering guidance on yield optimization, disease prevention, and operational efficiency. The second session centered on shrimp farming, emphasizing biosecurity, health management, and advanced farming systems.

Attendees highlighted the value of expert-led discussions on disease management, often cited as a key challenge in aquaculture. Participants described the sessions as both informative and actionable, providing immediate steps to enhance animal health and reduce production losses.

Agriconnect reflects Aboitiz Foods’ broader commitment to building long-term value for its customers, beyond product offerings.

“Agriconnect was designed with one clear purpose: to support our customers by providing timely, practical insights that help drive better performance. Our goal is to equip our customers with the right tools, knowledge, and partnerships needed to achieve peak performance and sustainable success,” Nojac added.
