ICAR-NSRI Issues Advisory on Initial Stem Fly Infestation in Soybean Crops
15 July 2025, Indore: The ICAR – National Soybean Research Institute (NSRI) has alerted farmers about the likelihood of initial stem fly infestation in soybean crops at this stage. Early detection and timely control are crucial to prevent serious damage to the crop.
Farmers are advised to monitor their fields closely and spray the recommended insecticide Thiamethoxam 12.60% + Lambda Cyhalothrin 09.50% ZC at the rate of 125 ml per hectare immediately after symptoms are noticed. This combined insecticide has proven effective in controlling the stem fly pest and protecting the crop yield.
The institute emphasizes that prompt action will reduce the risk of crop loss and encourage farmers to consult their local agricultural officers for proper guidance and safe pesticide application.
