Government Credits Farmers, MSP Policy, and Oilseed Missions

Minister Chouhan expressed satisfaction over the strong performance in both pulses and oilseeds, especially under the government’s ongoing oilseed and pulses missions. He noted that India’s “Oilseed Mission” has delivered encouraging results, pushing oilseed output up by more than 8% in a single year.

He also stressed that guaranteed procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) for tur, urad, chana, and moong has significantly benefited farmers, strengthening the domestic production ecosystem.

Pulses Self-Reliance Mission to Accelerate Growth

Chouhan said that the newly launched Pulses Self-Reliance Mission will further strengthen domestic pulse production and reduce import dependence. Senior officials also discussed forward-looking strategies after the release of the final estimates.
