Lantmännen And Agronod In New Partnership To Increase Automation And Reduce Climate Impact In Crop Production

15 October 2025, Sweden: Through a new partnership with Agronod, Lantmännen is creating the conditions for automated collection of crop production data. This means that data management within Lantmännen’s cultivation program Climate & Nature can be carried out more efficiently, quickly and with higher quality assurance.

Within Lantmännen’s Climate & Nature program, grain is grown according to criteria that reduce climate impact and promote biodiversity. Since its launch in 2015, products from the program – which today includes wheat, barley, oats, rye and durum wheat – have reduced the climate footprint by up to 45 percent.

The new cooperation agreement enables farmers participating in Climate & Nature to track the impact of their measures starting from the 2026 harvest. When more data sources are connected and crop production models are developed within the Agronod platform, farmers can make more precise calculations using the climate tool Agrosfär. The results can then be shared with Lantmännen within the Climate & Nature program.

“Our Climate & Nature program has driven the development of more sustainable farming for ten years. The program has grown, not least through partnerships with Spendrups and Coop, and we are now proud to deepen our collaboration also with Agronod,” says Claes Johansson, Head of Sustainability at Lantmännen.

“Through this partnership, farmers receive clear confirmation that their efforts truly make a difference. At the same time, detailed cultivation data is important to verify that estimates based on averages are accurate. With Agronod, new opportunities open up to further develop Climate & Nature,” says Claes Johansson.

“We are very proud of this collaboration with Lantmännen and their farmers, where Agronod turns the opportunities of digitalisation into practical benefits. By automating the collection of crop production data, we simplify previously manual work, improve the quality of climate data and free up time for farmers to focus on what truly makes a difference,” says Emilia Liljeström, CEO of Agronod.
