Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Releases ₹380 Crore for Bajra Farmers Under Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana

15 December 2025, ChandigarhHaryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday announced the release of ₹380 crore for Bajra-producing farmers in the state under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, reiterating that farmer welfare remains the central focus of the Haryana government’s policy framework.

Addressing office-bearers of the Kisan Morcha at his official residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, the Chief Minister said the state’s overall prosperity is intrinsically linked to the well-being of its farmers. He highlighted that Haryana provides support to farmers at every stage of cultivation, from subsidies on agricultural machinery during sowing and harvesting to assured procurement and direct bank transfers after harvest.

The Chief Minister underlined that all 24 major crops grown by farmers in Haryana are now procured at Minimum Support Price. He said that ₹1.64 lakh crore has so far been transferred directly into the bank accounts of around 12 lakh farmers against crop procurement. Over the last 11 years, compensation worth ₹15,728 crore has been disbursed to farmers for crop losses due to natural calamities, reflecting the government’s commitment to standing with farmers in times of distress.

To simplify procurement and access to benefits, the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal has been introduced, enabling farmers to sell their produce and avail financial assistance for seeds, fertilizers, loans and farm equipment online. For crop damage during the Kharif season 2025, compensation of over ₹116.51 crore has already been released to 53,821 farmers, he informed.

Nayab Singh Saini said the state government has abolished the Abiana system, a levy that had continued since the British era, and has also waived outstanding arrears of ₹133.55 crore related to past Abiana dues. He added that Haryana offers the highest sugarcane price in the country at ₹415 per quintal.

Highlighting infrastructure and market reforms, the Chief Minister said 108 mandis in Haryana have been integrated with the e-NAM platform to enable online trading. He also pointed to the establishment of Asia’s largest modern apple, fruit and vegetable market at Pinjore and land improvement works carried out on 1.54 lakh acres under the Haryana Operational Pilot Project.

On sustainable agriculture, he noted that verification of nearly 19,723 farmers has been completed under the Natural Farming Scheme, covering more than 31,800 acres. Financial assistance has been provided for natural farming inputs, along with subsidies for indigenous cows. He also detailed the extensive benefits delivered through central schemes, including ₹7,233 crore transferred to over 20 lakh farmers under PM-KISAN and insurance claims worth ₹9,127 crore paid to more than 33.51 lakh farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the One-Time Settlement Scheme for overdue PACS loans, under which interest and penalties amounting to over ₹3,500 crore have been waived for lakhs of farmers and rural labourers.

Underlining irrigation and water conservation efforts, Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana is providing up to 85 percent subsidy on micro-irrigation systems, along with support for underground pipelines and sprinkler systems, in line with the “Per Drop, More Crop” vision. He added that major investments are being made to rehabilitate watercourses under the Revised Watercourse Policy-2021.
