Linseed Caterpillar Infestation in Soybean Reported in Madhya Pradesh; ICAR-NSRI Advises Timely Control Measures

15 July 2025, Indore: Infestation of Spodoptera exigua (Linseed caterpillar) has been reported in linseed crops around 20 days old in parts of Harda and Depalpur (Indore) districts of Madhya Pradesh. The ICAR – National Soybean Research Institute (NSRI) has issued an advisory to farmers for effective management of this pest to prevent crop damage.

Farmers are advised to spray any one of the following insecticides as per the advisory:

  • Flubendiamide 20 WG @ 250–300 grams per hectare
  • Flubendiamide 39.35 SC @ 150 ml per hectare
  • Indoxacarb 15.8 EC @ 333 ml per hectare

Farmers should consult local agricultural officers before spraying and follow recommended guidelines to ensure effective pest control.
