01 January 2025, New Delhi: Under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana and ICAR-ATARI, Zone-I, PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a farmer scientist interface at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib on 31.12.2024.
At the outset, Dr Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training), KVK, Fatehgarh Sahib, welcomed the farmers & farmwomen and outlined the farmer welfare activities of KVK Fatehgarh Sahib. Dr. Rampal spoke on the need for adopting subsidiary occupations like dairy, goatry, poultry, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, etc., alongwith farming for complementing farm income and exhorted all to avail the services of KVK through ongoing vocational trainings for this.

Dr. Ajay Kumar, Assistant Professor (Soil Science) guided the farmers about the importance of soil fertility. Dr. Arvindpreet kaur, Assistant Professor (Horticulture), explained in detail the care and management of horticultural crops in winter season. Dr. Mainsha Bhatia, Assistant Professor (Home Science), encouraged the farmers to prepare different products from Amla. Dr GPS Sethi, Assistant Professor (Animal Science), guided the farmers about management of animals in winter season. Dr. Amanpreet Singh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) guided the farmers regarding integrated nutrient, weed management practices for rabi crops,
On this occasion, progressive framers of the district were present and had a fruitful discussion with the experts regarding their field queries.
