
Rajasthan Suspends Manufacturing License of HPM Chemicals & Fertilizers Over Misbranded Product
21 August 2025, New Delhi: The Government of Rajasthan has suspended the manufacturing license of HPM Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited after reports of misbranding and crop damage linked to one of its products.
According to an official order issued by the Commissionerate of Agriculture, Pant Krishi Bhawan, Jaipur, the suspension comes following a communication from the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (DPPQS), Government of India.
The product in question, Chlorimuron Ethyl 25% WP (Batch No. KE-04, Mfg. Date: 26.03.2025, Exp. Date: 25.03.2027), was reported to have caused damage to soybean crops across several districts in Madhya Pradesh. Samples tested by the State Licensing Authority confirmed that the product was misbranded.
Authorities have also registered FIRs against the company for violations under Sections 17 and 18 of the Insecticides Act, 1968. Acting under Section 14 of the same Act, Rajasthan’s agriculture department suspended manufacturing licenses L-38, L-120, and L-210 for both units of HPM Chemicals located in Khushkheda (Alwar) and Kotputli-Behror.
The company has been directed to immediately halt the manufacturing, sale, and distribution of all insecticide products from its Rajasthan units until further orders. The suspension will remain in force pending the outcome of the investigation.
