Stockpile of Fake Agri Inputs Seized: 468 Quintals of Substandard Biostimulants Confiscated, Several Warehouses Sealed
03 July 2025, Bikaner: In a recent enforcement drive under the Agricultural Input Quality Control Campaign, Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena conducted a surprise late-night inspection in Bikaner, leading to the seizure of a massive stockpile of counterfeit and substandard agricultural inputs. Without any prior intimation, the minister raided warehouses located in the Bichhwal industrial area and near the grain market, uncovering 468.25 quintals of inferior-quality biostimulants, along with large quantities of fertilisers, seeds, and pesticides.
Warehouses Opened by Force for Inspection
At around 9 PM, Minister Meena arrived at a government warehouse in Bichhwal, where around 48,000 kg of biostimulants packed in 2,300 buckets were confiscated. He then moved on to the Bhura Complex near the grain market and inspected over 20 private warehouses. Several warehouses were forcibly opened. While some stored biostimulants, others contained DAP, groundnut seeds, or fertilisers. Four warehouses were sealed on the spot, while a few others could not be opened. The minister personally monitored the entire inspection with the investigation team.
Minister Angered Over Lack of Information on Warehouses
When the minister questioned agriculture officials present at the site about these warehouses, they were unable to provide any information. Joint Director Kailash Choudhary also admitted that he was seeing these warehouses for the first time. Expressing strong displeasure over the negligence, the minister stated that such oversights would not be tolerated.
Department Acted Ahead of Minister’s Visit
According to sources, the department had received information about the minister’s visit a day in advance. Subsequently, the agriculture department team conducted a raid on Friday night at Plot F-27B in the Bichhwal Industrial Area and seized 468.25 quintals of biostimulants. The products belonged to ‘Godara Agro Agency’. The warehouse lacked any official approval or licence, and there was no authorised permission for the sale of the biostimulants. Six samples were collected from the site and have been sent for testing.
Offenders Will Be Dismissed: Minister Meena
Minister Kirori Lal Meena stated that strict action would be taken against those selling fake and substandard fertilisers and seeds. He directed agricultural officers to file FIRs at local police stations in such cases. He also revealed that 22 FIRs have already been filed in Kishangarh, 11 officials have been suspended, and licences of 18 firms have been revoked. Similar actions have been taken in Jaipur and Chomu. The minister warned that negligence of this sort would not be tolerated, and culprits could face not only suspension but also dismissal from service.
