John Deere Employees Raise $200K for Central Texas Flood Relief
25 August 2025, Texas: In July, severe flooding in Kerr County, Texas, devastated the community, tragically claiming lives and displacing thousands. This natural disaster will require months, if not years, to fully recover from.
In response to this crisis, John Deere employees and the John Deere Foundation united to raise over $200,000 to support those impacted by the flooding.
A crisis close to home
Just 100 miles from the John Deere Austin office, the Guadalupe River surged to critical levels, flooding homes, camps, and neighborhoods. For many employees, dealers, and customers in Texas, the disaster is personal.
“The flooding was deeply personal to me, not only as a Texan and board member of the Central Texas Food Bank but also as a parent whose own daughter has attended camp in the area for several years,” said Justin Rose, president, lifecycle solutions, supply management, and customer success.” Seeing how employees stepped up to help and knowing that our dealers and customers were on the ground supporting relief efforts with John Deere equipment was truly inspiring.”
A lasting impact
The John Deere Foundation matched employee donations, amplifying the impact resulting in a total of $209,000 raised. These funds will provide essential food, shelter, and hope to families in need. The supported non-profits include:
- Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country – Kerr County Flood Relief Fund
- San Antonio Food Bank
- Central Texas Food Bank
“Our employees stepped up in a moment of real need, and the Foundation was proud to stand beside them—doubling their contributions and helping ensure that more families received the care and resources they deserved,” said Taryn Edgin, John Deere Foundation President.
