Third-Party Research Shows Improved Yield And Profitability With Meristem®
04 February 2026, Ohio: In 2025, David Peart of Madison County, Ohio, partnered with Ohio State University’s eFields on-farm research program to put out a field-scale trial to evaluate an advanced planter box system from Meristem Crop Performance.
“I have heard about the new products from Meristem and wanted to see how they worked,” Peart said.
The product being evaluated was Meristem’s Revline® Hopper Throttle® Corn Lyte copacked with Prephyte™ ST, which combines seed fluency, micronutrients, a biostimulant and an EPA-registered biofungicide in a convenient delivery system. In the trial, Corn Lyte was compared to standard talc and graphite as a seed fluency agent.
The research was conducted on 225 acres with a split planter setup and 30 replications of 60-foot treatments. The summary from Ohio State University eFields said:
- RHT Corn Lyte + Prephyte ST yielded 10 bushels more per acre than the untreated strips (207 bushels per acre for RHT Corn Lyte compared to 197 bushels per acre untreated)
- RHT Corn Lyte + Prephyte ST treated strips were $24 per acre more profitable than the non-treated.
| Treatments | Moisture (%) | Yield (bu/ac) | Return above ($/ac) |
| RHT Corn Lyte | 17.2 | 207 a | 812 |
| Control (untreated) | 17.2 | 197 b | 788 |

“I always enjoy the opportunity to partner with farmers to conduct research on farms,” said Amanda Douridas, CCA, Ohio State University Extension Educator for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Madison County. “Regardless of the outcome, we always learn something important and, in this case, with the positive yield response, it was an exciting trial to analyze.”
Meristem’s RHT Corn Lyte + Prephyte ST planter box treatment includes:
- Bio-Capsule™ Technology patented delivery system that allows for the addition of multiple biological solutions safely packaged for convenient, live deployment at planting
- IonLock™ Zinc — concentrated Zinc that increases singulation and adheres microbes to seed coats through micronutrient encapsulation, while providing similar results to 1 quart of in-furrow 9% Zinc EDTA
- Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn) in the seed fluency for increased early-season uptake
- Revline, a proven, industry-leading biostimulant PPFM strain that generates massive root structure
- Prephyte ST broad-spectrum, EPA-registered fungicide for prevention, control or suppression of many soilborne diseases, free-living nematodes and abiotic stresses.
Peart was pleased with the results of the research and, in 2026, plans to use a similar advanced planter box copack from Meristem including Guard X**™ EPA-registered bioinsecticide.
