Enprocymid Provisionally Approved as ISO Common Name for Fungicide
24 August 2025, US: The ISO 1750 Maintenance Agency has provisionally approved “enprocymid” as the new ISO common name for a pyrazolecarboxamide fungicide developed by Jiangsu Flag Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. The approval was granted on 16 August 2025.
Enprocymid is chemically designated as N-cyclopropyl-N-[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-propen-1-yl]-3-(difluoromethyl)-5-fluoro-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide [CAS: 2757172-25-9]. The fungicide is recognized under the Chinese common name 烯丙唑菌胺, and in French as « enprocymide » (nm).
The Maintenance Agency has invited objections from stakeholders who believe that the name “enprocymid” may conflict with existing trademarks. Any objections must be submitted by 16 February 2026. If no objections are received, the name will be formally approved and incorporated into the next edition of ISO 1750, which lists both preferred and common names.
This development marks another addition to the ISO registry of standardized pesticide common names, ensuring global consistency in reference and use.
