AGRITECHNICA ASIA & HortEx 2026 Unveil International Technical Program Focused on Asia’s Farming Future

26 February 2026, Thailand: Asia’s premier platform for agricultural machinery and horticultural technology, AGRITECHNICA ASIA and HortEx 2026, will take place at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre under the theme “Farm. Farmer. Future.” The three-day event is set to bring together agricultural professionals, policymakers, researchers and agribusiness leaders from across Asia and beyond, with a strong focus on technical exchange, capacity building and practical innovation adoption tailored to Asia’s diverse production systems.

Organized by German Agricultural Society (DLG) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC), the 2026 edition will feature Germany as the official partner country, represented by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Regional Identity (BMLEH).

Strong International Participation

Approximately 350 exhibitors are expected to showcase innovations in mechanization, smart farming and horticulture technologies, while more than 18,000 professional visitors are anticipated over the three-day event. Eight national and regional pavilions — Austria, China, Germany, India, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea and Taiwan — will underline the exhibition’s global reach.

Leading global machinery brands such as CLAAS, AGCO / Massey Ferguson, Mahindra & Mahindra, Zoomlion, KUHNand Amazone will appear alongside digital and autonomous technology pioneers including DJI, XAG and Topcon.

The co-located exhibitions will provide a comprehensive view of advanced farm machinery, automated harvesting, protected cropping systems, precision irrigation, energy-efficient greenhouse technologies and data-driven farming tools, enabling stakeholders to compare solutions side by side.

Katharina Staske, Managing Director of DLG Markets Asia Pacific, stated that AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2026 builds on previous successes while introducing new formats aligned with Asia’s dynamic agricultural markets, emphasizing direct technical exchange and practical solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Comprehensive Technical and Conference Program

Beyond the exhibition halls, AGRITECHNICA ASIA and HortEx 2026 will host an extensive knowledge-transfer and conference program featuring nearly 100 international speakers. Key themes include mechanization and digitalization, sustainable crop production, climate-resilient farming systems, horticulture and specialty crops, innovation ecosystems, and regional market insights.

The program is supported by a broad institutional network, including universities such as Kasetsart University, University of the Philippines Los Baños and Nong Lam University, alongside international organizations including Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), SEARCA and the World Vegetable Center.

AGRIFUTURE Zone and Startup Day

The 2026 edition introduces the AGRIFUTURE Zone, designed to align innovation directly with farm-level needs. A highlight will be the Startup Day on 21 May 2026, supported by the National Innovation Agency (NIA), Bosch, Technical University of Munich Venture Labs and SEARCA.

The Startup Day will feature hackathons, rapid-fire startup pitches and practical use-case discussions, fostering direct engagement between startups, farmers, cooperatives and agribusiness partners.

Future Farmers Program

Placing farmers at the center of innovation, the Future Farmers Program will promote lifelong learning and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange. Key components include the Future Farmer Awards — recognizing Young Smart Farmers, Women Farmers and Farmer Leaders — along with the Farmer Exchange Zone, guided tours, field visits to innovation hubs in Thailand, and a dedicated Seed and Farmer’s Day on 22 May 2026 focusing on seed systems and crop improvement.

Applied Technology Trophy

The AGRITECHNICA ASIA Applied Technology Trophy will recognize solutions with demonstrated adaptability, scalability and practical value for Asian farming systems. Winners will be selected by an independent international jury, reinforcing the event’s focus on real-world impact.

Germany as Official Partner Country

As official partner country, Germany will host a dedicated pavilion and technical program, highlighting productivity, mechanization and resource efficiency solutions. More than 20 German companies and institutions are expected to present technologies and services designed to strengthen sustainable agricultural growth in Thailand and across Southeast Asia.
