Minister Han Jun Meets with Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut
06 November 2025, Beijing: Minister Han Jun met with Oksana Lut, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, in Beijing on October 31. They exchanged views on deepening agricultural cooperation between China and Russia.
Minister Han noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, agricultural authorities of China and Russia have maintained close exchanges and achieved positive outcomes in cooperation on agricultural trade, investment, science and technology. China stands ready to work with Russia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, consolidate and expand cooperation in the seed industry, crop pest and disease control, agricultural machinery, biotechnology, and green and low-carbon agriculture. He called for joint efforts to advance the establishment of the China-Russia Pilot Demonstration Zone for Agricultural Cooperation, further tap the potential for cooperation, and elevate bilateral agricultural cooperation to a new level.
Minister Lut agreed with Minister Han. She said Russia is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in such areas as agricultural trade, market access, the seed industry, agricultural machinery, and agricultural science and education, and to actively advance the establishment of the China-Russia Pilot Demonstration Zone for Agricultural Cooperation.
Following the meeting, the two ministers signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the prevention and control of pests including the colorado potato beetle, locusts, meadow moths, and armyworms between China and Russia. Vice Minister Zhang Zhili and Chief Agronomist Pan Wenbo attended the meeting.
